Support for every stage of a woman’s life
Women move through profound psychological transitions across their lives: trying to conceive, fertility struggles, becoming a mother, relationships and their endings, and later perimenopause and menopause. Each stage carries both emotional and physical layers, and each deserves support that understands both.
At Nafsology Psychology Center, we offer a space that is warm, informed and free of judgement, whichever stage you are in.
How we can help
Fertility counselling
Trying to conceive can bring grief, anxiety, guilt and a loss of control that is hard to put into words, especially once the process becomes medical. Pressure from family and society, or a partner who is coping differently, can make it a lonely road.
We support individuals and couples with:
- Decisions about fertility treatment
- Coping with uncertainty and repeated setbacks
- Talking with a partner who experiences the journey differently
Infertility and IVF support
Infertility can shake your sense of identity, your hopes and your relationship. Therapy offers a space to process grief, move towards acceptance and ease the strain treatment places on a couple.
- Coping strategies for the uncertainty of IVF and other treatments
- Managing anxiety around appointments and results
- Staying connected to yourself and your partner
Miscarriage and pregnancy loss support
Pregnancy loss is a grief that is often minimised or misunderstood by those around you. Therapy gives you room to process the loss, the trauma and the emotions that follow.
- Grief and trauma after miscarriage or pregnancy loss
- Support through a later pregnancy
- Support for partners who grieve differently or at a different pace
Prenatal and postpartum psychological support
Pregnancy and early motherhood bring rapid changes to identity, alongside the physical demands of the perinatal period.
- Anxiety during pregnancy and fears about birth
- Adjusting to motherhood and a changed sense of self
- Postpartum low mood, anxiety and exhaustion
- Shifts in your relationship after a new baby
Perimenopause and menopause support
The hormonal shifts of perimenopause and menopause can affect mood, sleep, thinking and sense of self, often alongside other major life changes. Therapy helps you make sense of what you are experiencing and work through its effect on identity, confidence and relationships.
- Mood swings, anxiety and irritability
- Brain fog and changes in sleep
- Changes in libido and intimacy
Couples and relationship counselling
Every stage above affects a relationship, as do new parenthood, midlife, the empty-nest years, relocation and everyday patterns of conflict. Using Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) and the Gottman method, we work with couples on:
- Communication breakdown and recurring conflict
- Rebuilding trust after a rupture
- Premarital and discernment counselling
- Reconnecting after distance or strain
Recovery from toxic relationships
Recovering from a manipulative or controlling relationship includes learning to trust your own judgement again.
- Untangling self-doubt caused by gaslighting and manipulation
- Understanding coercive control
- Recognising unhealthy patterns that repeat across relationships
- Rebuilding self-worth and boundaries so you can move forward
You don’t have to carry this alone. A first session is a confidential space to talk about where you are and what would help.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a referral from my doctor or IVF clinic?
No. You can book directly. If you are under the care of a fertility clinic, gynaecologist or GP, we are happy to work alongside them with your consent.
Can my partner join the sessions?
Yes. You can come alone, as a couple, or a mix of both. Many people start individually and bring their partner in later.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes. Sessions are available online anywhere in the UAE, as well as in person at our centre in HDS Tower, JLT, Dubai.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. What you share stays private and is not passed to family, employers or insurers without your written consent, except where UAE law requires it.
Can therapy help with postpartum depression?
Therapy can help with postpartum low mood, anxiety and the adjustment to motherhood. If symptoms are severe, we may also suggest a medical assessment and can work alongside your doctor.
Can therapy help with menopause symptoms like anxiety and brain fog?
Therapy can help you understand and manage the emotional side of perimenopause and menopause, such as anxiety, irritability and low confidence. It works well alongside medical care for the physical symptoms.
I had a miscarriage some time ago. Is it too late to get support?
No. Grief after pregnancy loss can surface months or years later, often during a new pregnancy. It is never too late to talk about it.
